If you doubt the validity of a Will or you suspect the person applying for probate is unsuitable you can use a probate caveat by completing form form PA8A online to prevent the proposed executors or administrators of a deceased person’s estate from getting permission to administer the estate assets. The initial duration of a caveat is 6 months which can be extended.
Be warned that using a caveat without valid reasons may lead to costly consequences and it may be a better option to use a Standing Search notification feature to be alerted when probate is issued.
