Allāh Exposes the Evil of a People Before Their Destruction

بِسۡمِ اللهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

اللہ کسی قوم کی ہلاکت سے پہلے ان کی برائی کو ظاہر فرما دیتا ہے۔

Allāh () in His infinite Wisdom and Mercy, ensures that the wickedness of a people is fully exposed before their destruction, so that no excuse remains for their evil and no argument can be made against His Decree. Their crimes become clear and undeniable, distinguishing the oppressors from the innocent, and leaving no doubt about the righteousness of divine justice.

In our present day, we are witnessing evil regimes depriving entire populations of food and water, intentionally causing thousands of deaths through starvation, dehydration, and disease. These are clear violations of every law, every principle of morality, and every standard of human decency. Worse still, they record and display their atrocities openly, as though cruelty were a game, and they revel in their crimes before the whole world. But what awaits those who meticulously plot evil against their fellow human beings and arrogantly defy the Creator of the heavens and the earth? Allāh () says:

وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ
“The evil plot does not engulf except its own people.” (Qur’ān 35:43)

No matter how untouchable these evil people may appear, no matter how advanced their technology or powerful their armies, they are unknowingly building the very machinery of their own downfall. Their arrogance blinds them to their vulnerability, and they falsely believe that they are beyond accountability. But Allāh () has declared: “They plot, and Allāh plots. And Allāh is the best of planners.” (Qur’ān 8:30)

This is a divine promise borne out through history. The Crusaders, who once sought to eradicate Islām from Jerusalem, committed unspeakable atrocities. They slaughtered men, women, and children, desecrated sacred spaces, and sought to erase Islām from the Holy Land. In many ways similar to what we are seeing now. Yet within a single generation, they were defeated by Salahuddin Ayyubi, who not only liberated Jerusalem but did so with honour, mercy, and dignity, leaving a legacy still remembered a thousand years later, while the Crusaders are remembered only for their barbarity towards their fellow human beings and an enduring embarrassment for their supporters.

The very arrogance and cruelty of the oppressors become the instrument of their humiliation and defeat. Their plots are but traps for their own destruction. And just as Allāh’s () promises of reward to the patient and the righteous never fail, so too His warnings to the tyrants will certainly come to pass.

For those suffering under oppression, this is a source of profound hope: Allāh’s () justice may appear to be delayed, but it is never denied. And for those who cunningly plot injustice, let them beware: they are not deceiving Allāh (), they are deceiving only themselves, and they will be engulfed by the very evil they have devised. For Allāh () promises: “And your Lord is never unjust to His creation.” (Qur’ān 41:46)
